Position Summary:

Lotame builds its Platform UI in javascript, built on backbone.js. The UI communicates to our REST API backend. As a UI/UX Engineer, you will define the User Experience for the only truly independent, industry-leading Data Management Platform. You will work collaboratively with our Product Management and Marketing teams to understand the user workflow and design and implement that workflow directly in the product.. You will also contribute as a member of our development team to bring those designs to life in a flexible, maintainable manner.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

The environment is dynamic and fast-paced, so during any given day you may have the opportunity to:

Design the User Experience and Interfaces for new and existing products built upon our Platform UI.

Participate in client interviews and other requirement-gathering activities, defining our user scenarios and how our different clients are trying to use the Platform features.

Identify ways to communicate data and analytics most effectively, especially using visualization technologies such as D3.

Apply best practices in User Interface design.

Work with Marketing to define overall look and feel and make sure design elements match corporate standards while being suitable for development. Help plan implementation of ongoing design improvements.

Code your designed User Interfaces using best practices for JavaScript. This includes creating and using reusable components, creating unit tests, and helping to create UI integration tests.



Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with background in Computer Science or Engineering

3+ years experience developing robust web applications in JavaScript, using Backbone.js., Angular.js or similar

3+ years experience in an enterprise development environment, using Linux and git

5+ years designing web application user experiences and interfaces

Proven ability to design concise, easy to user user interfaces, including data visualization

Strong background in CSS and HTML, as well as experience creating mockups

Excellent verbal and written communication skills


Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of the advertising/marketing industry

Ability to contribute to Java development and interest in analyzing large amounts of data

Experience in Design for Usability and user interviews
